The plastic shredder is equipped with a profiled solid-steel rotor with a diameter of 457–750 mm, operating at a low speed of 52–74 rpm. Concave-ground, aggressive 4-way reversible knives are securely mounted in precision-machined grooves on the rotor using special knife holders. This design allows for a minimized cutting gap between the rotor knives and counter knives, ensuring high material throughput, low energy consumption, and maximum shredding efficiency.
Material feeding is handled by a hydraulically driven ram, which automatically pushes material into the cutting chamber based on load-related control logic. The hydraulic system features high-pressure relief valves and adjustable volumetric flow controls, allowing precise configuration to match different material characteristics.
Extremely robust pedestal bearing housings are mounted externally, completely isolated from the cutting chamber. This design effectively prevents dust and debris from entering the oversized bearings, resulting in extended service life and reduced maintenance requirements.
Power for the plastic bottle shredder is transmitted from the motor through a drive belt to an oversized gearbox mounted on one end of the rotor shaft, ensuring stable torque transmission, smooth operation, and long-term reliability.
To ensure maximum operational safety, a safety interlock switch prevents the shredder from starting when the front access panel is open. In addition, emergency stop buttons are installed on both the machine body and the control panel, providing immediate shutdown in emergency situations.
